Year 13 Press Release

Our Year 13 students have continued Ranelagh’s strong record of A Level success; 82.4% of students achieved A*-C grades (compared to 78.3% in 2016) and 29.3% of grades were A*-A (compared to 27.4% in 2016).  This upward trend was also demonstrated in the average grade achieved which improved from a C+ in 2016 to a B- in 2017.  These results are all the more impressive with the continued changes to A-Levels and they demonstrate the resilience and hard work of our students.

14% of our Year 13 students achieved grades AAB or better and six student: Eleanor Bruce, Sophie Edgar, Ashley Hookings, Georgina Kinner, Georgia Matthews, Cameron Muir and Katie Scott, achieved all three grades at A and A*; a fantastic achievement!

In terms of destinations 85% of Year 13 students will be going to university this September or after a gap year.  25% of the Year 13 cohort have secured places at Russell Group universities.  Courses chosen range from English, History, Biochemistry, and Architecture to Oceanography, Quantity Surveying and Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging, demonstrating the ambitious and diverse choices that studying at Ranelagh enables students to make.

For our students who have, at this point, chosen not to attend university some have taken up high-quality apprenticeships in accountancy, law, business, finance and sport.  Others have gone into employment or are taking an opportunity to undertake voluntary work or travel as part of a gap-year.

Whatever their choices we are extremely proud of the achievements of all of our Year 13 students and wish them all the very best of luck in the future.
