Admissions Information

The proposed variation to the admissions arrangements from September 2021 in respect of the admissions arrangements for admission to Year 12 from September 2021 has now been approved.

The variation requested is: “The NCFE in Sport and Physical Activity (Sports Coaching) (level 3)”

• A student wishing to take the sports coaching pathway must achieve a best 8 score* at GCSE of 40 points or more
• The minimum GCSE grade for English and Mathematics is a 3 grade. If students have not achieved grade 4 or better in these subjects, they will continue to study GCSE English Language and/or Mathematics until they achieve GCSE 4 grade or better.
• Each student must demonstrate an aptitude for a specific sport as established through a trial process

*a best 8 score is calculated by adding up the points achieved by a student in their best eight subjects at GCSE including English and Maths. Please note that the scores for the student’s GCSE mathematics and their best GCSE English result will be doubled.”

This request was made in order to create fair and transparent admissions criteria for applicants to a newly established vocational course to be offered from September 2021 in partnership with The SB Group Sport and Education Academy.

Please refer to the admissions information below before completing either the In Year Supplementary Information Form 2021-22 for admission for the current academic year or the Supplementary Information Form for admission in September 2022 [Year 7].
